Selling Your Saddle

We accept your saddle, Western or English, on a consignment basis. At the time we sell your saddle, Charlotte's retains 25% of the selling price. You receive the remaining balance (75%). Our 25% covers the cost we incur in marketing and advertising your saddle. When your saddle is sold, there is a four week grace period to be sure that the saddle is not returned due to improper fit, incorrect size etc. At the end of the four weeks, Charlotte's will issue a check to you for the balance due.


You can set the selling price for your saddle or we can tell you what we feel would be fair market value for the saddle. Often times, buyers will offer less than the asking price for a saddle. We will contact you at that time and give you the opportunity to accept, decline, or counter with a different price.

We are no longer accepting fittings with saddles.


We ask that you clean and condition your saddle before sending it to us. After all, it will only increase the opportunity we have to sell your saddle. If you like, Charlotte's will do the "dirty work" for you. For an additional $50, we'll thoroughly clean and recondition the saddle for you.


There is no time limit on leaving your saddle with us. If it doesn't sell right away, you might consider adjusting the price, or we can have it returned to you. We sell a large number of used saddles for individuals but please keep in mind that Charlotte's does not guarantee how long it will take to sell your saddle. Some saddles will sell faster than others, sometimes because of brand or size, but generally there is no "rhyme or reason" to the length of time that it takes to sell a saddle.


Charlotte's allows individuals to check out or try saddles. After all, when purchasing saddles, most people have to determine fit on their horse as well as fit for themselves. If you do not want to allow this option let us know at the time you send or bring in your saddle to us. For protection, we do require that a credit card be given at the time a saddle is checked out.
