Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 09 3/8" Single Joint, Level 1
The MB 09 3/8" is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Mouthpiece is 3/8" (9.5mm) instead of the standard 11mm.
The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and is slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The HBT shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece, and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap that attaches to the purchase. The HBT shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll.
