They provide a comfortable grip and are perfect for dressage riding.
The cheek design of the Baucher bit allows a bit of pressure that encourages a horse to flex. The mouthpiece is a Waterford design of linked balls. This flexible mouthpiece discourages the horse from leaning or taking hold of the bit.
One ring is attached to the cheekpiece of the bridle, and the other is linked to the mouthpiece. The double rings enhance the bit’s stability and prevent it from sliding through the horse’s mouth.
This leather bit has a half cheek design, which means it has cheekpieces on only one side of the mouthpiece. The cheekpiece prevents the bit from sliding out of the horse’s mouth when the reins are used. This leather bit also conforms to the horses mouth.

The French link in this bit means pressure is applied to both sides of the tongue. Horses with low palates may find this bit more comfortable as the mouthpiece should not contact the palate when the bit is in action.
