The Barrel Dee Snaffle is a very simple single jointed Dee Ring bit that is suitable for horses of all levels. The Barrel Dee applies pressure to the sides of the tongue, bars and lips while the Dee ring cheeks apply pressure at the sides of the face.
The anatomically shaped mouthpiece leaves minimal space for the tongue and distributes the pressure evenly between the charges and the tongue. The low degree of curvature allows the bit to lie quietly in the mouth and offers a less sharp action.
The mouthpiece of this snaffle bit is made of copper wire wrapped around a central core. It has a half cheek design, which means it has cheekpieces on only one side of the mouthpiece. The cheekpiece prevents the bit from sliding out of the horse’s mouth.

The port, although narrow and somewhat low, allows room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. When the reins are engaged and the mouthpiece rotates onto the tongue, it applies two concentrated points of pressure on the tongue for quick control.
The full cheek snaffle has narrow arms which project above and below the rings, preventing the mouthpiece from sliding in the horses mouth and to emphasize the tuning aid.
The Pelham bit combines the function of a snaffle and the action of a curb bit.
The mouthpiece is slightly curved to accommodate the tongue and creates even pressure on the bars of the mouth and the horse's tongue.
Provides the rider with varying levels of leverage and poll pressure with the lower ring providing the most leverage. Can be used with a single rein, two reins or with pelham rounding's. The copper mouth encourages salivation and acceptance of the bit.

The Dee ring compromises between an eggbutt and a full cheek snaffle, preventing pinching at the corners of the mouth and without the dangers posed by the arms of a full cheek snaffle.
